Reading Notes Sita Sings the blues Part B

Part B
Sita Sings The Blues by: Nina Paley

After the intermission, and a interesting video, the story continues. This next part of the story was not part of the Ramayana that I read by Narayana, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

The narrator's keep mentioning that Sita could have left with Hanuman when he fount her in Lanka, while a prisoner of Ravana, but that was not in the adaption of the Narayana version. There was no choice.

I wished I would have read a full story of Sita being banished, It is hard to tell what happened based off this depiction. I guess Mother Earth swallowed her up. I wanted to scream at the screen "Enough is Enough" tell Rama! haha

I wanted to understand a little more about the modern day couple of the film. What was the point of their story in context to the Sita and Rama...and also, what was their story?
Man went to India, Woman followed, man changed, ended it with woman. Woman was sad, but then got pictures of Indian Gods, and a new cat (poor old cat), and was content? At least she had a happier ending than Sita I guess. I don't think Sita was ever content.
